Chadkirk, Romiley – Complete Re-Roof and Chimney Rebuild

A nice local job was recently completed in a full re-roof project in the Chadkirk area of Romiley – one of the closest neighbourhoods to our base and an area we know extremely well.

The property required both essential structural upgrades and aesthetic improvements, making it a great example of how our team delivers long-lasting results with careful planning, precision and technical skill.

A Full Roof Renewal with Modern Materials

The project began with a complete strip and replacement of the existing roof coverings.

Standard re-roofing procedures were carried out, including a high-quality breathable felt designed to prevent condensation while maintaining the healthy airflow throughout the loft space. Treated battens were fitted to provide a strong, durable foundation for the new tiles.

A matte black thin-leading-edge tile was selected for the property – an elegant, modern option that offers clean lines and excellent weather performance. These tiles deliver a sleek finish without compromising on durability, giving the home a refined and contemporary appearance while ensuring maximum protection from the elements.

The roof was completed with a full dry-fix ridge system, offering long-term resilience with no reliance on traditional mortar. This system reduces maintenance demands, increases weather resistance and ensures consistent performance throughout seasonal changes.

Chimney Rebuild for Safety and Structural Integrity

During inspection, it became clear that the chimney required major remedial work. Several bricks had blown, and the structure displayed signs of deterioration.

To safeguard the property and prevent future water ingress or instability, the chimney was professionally dismantled and rebuilt. This not only restored the appearance of the home but also secured an often-overlooked element of roof performance.

Upgrading Insulation and Loft Structure

Improving the home’s energy efficiency was central towards this project. All insulation was brought up to current building regulations with a full 300mm installation across the loft areas.

To ensure the insulation remained effective, a suspended loft floor was constructed. This prevents the insulation from being compressed, something that significantly reduces thermal performance if not addressed. Keeping insulation “plump” is key to maximising heat retention, and the suspended system ensures long-term efficiency without compromising usable loft space.

A Robust, Modern Roof Built to Last

The Chadkirk re-roof project perfectly showcases Pinnacle Roof and Build’s commitment to quality workmanship, modern roofing solutions and structural durability.

The property now benefits from a safer chimney, improved insulation, and a sleek, high-performance roof designed to stand the test of time.
