Pinnacle Roof & Build recently completed a minor extension roof project in Heavily, Stockport, for a local builder who regularly commissions services. The scope of work for the builder included transforming a UPVC conservatory roof into a timber-framed structure, extending it sideways to blend seamlessly with the original roofline, and installing four Velux windows.

To ensure adequate ventilation and prevent moisture buildup, our team installed over-fascia vents and felt support trays in the eaves. A breathable felt membrane was then laid, providing a watertight barrier against the elements. Treated 2×1 battens were used to further protect the roof from rot and decay.
The over-fascia vents help to improve airflow under the roof, reducing the risk of condensation and subsequent damage to the structure. The felt support trays add extra stability and prevent the felt membrane from coming loose over time, ensuring a long-lasting waterproof seal. The breathable felt membrane allows moisture to escape while still keeping the elements out, helping to prevent costly repairs down the line.
