One such job came to us recently, with the client discovering our work online and contacting us regarding an urgently required re-roof in Gatley.
Inspecting the Property
When our team inspected the property to ascertain the level of work required, we discovered that the existing roof was in deplorable condition. The roof was suffering from many broken tiles, with completely rotted battens and felt, making the property hard to contain heat on top of being structurally insufficient.
Fortunately, there was no structural damage, so our team took the customer through the entire building control process, informing them of the level of work required in taking away the old roof and replacing it with the new.
Work Conducted
The client agreed with us on the new roof being comprised of interlocking tiles. The existing roof was completely removed back to the rafters, with all original elements that had broken and rotted placed into an onsite skip.
For the loft space, we replaced the battens and felt and re-insulated the space with 300mm thick insulation before installing the new roof. For tiles, we selected the Marley Ludlow tiles in Olde English dark red, a strong and resilient concrete tile that was kind to the customer’s budget and strong enough for the roof.
We finished the main roof with an installation of a dry fix ridge system, before also re-roofing the entire lower levels.
Customer Satisfaction
The customer was overjoyed at the results of their new roof, offering more stability, warmth, and style than his compromised original roof. The customer now obtains a certificate to prove that all work conducted on his roof was under current regulations.
