Roof Transformation, Cheadle

The drive to make homes more sustainable and in line with the current drive to be more environmentally efficient recently led to one customer reaching out to the team at Pinnacle Roof and Build with the purchase of their new home in Cheadle.

Seeing the opportunity and enthusiasm to make their new home as energy-efficient as possible, we talked with the client about achieving an energy-efficient property – whilst also providing a new makeover to the exterior facade.

The customer had a mission to achieve. Our team were their partner in making it a reality.

Work Undertaken

Following our investigation into the roof and a decision-making consultation with the client, our team re-roofed the entire area in grey Marley Edgemere roofing tiles for a clean and precise appearance. They are low maintenance and constructed to last upwards of 60 years, so they were the perfect choice for this project.

As a finish, we laid completely new roofline made from black fascias and gutters, complete with a white soffit fitted underneath. Our team also upgraded the two flat roofs from a cold roof system to a warm roof system, sandwiching in 150mm of rigid insulation board between two OSB (Oriented Strand Board) timber sheets. We also laid completely fresh EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber, commonly a versatile and durable type with many applications.

Our team removed the wooden cladding and fully insulated the front dormer before rendering it all white. The six existing Velux windows on the back of the roof were removed and upgraded with tripled-glazed glass for better insulation warmth.

The final part of the roofing project was the installation of sixteen solar panels connected to a Tesla battery storage system.

Finish

After reconnecting with the customer after a few weeks to see how the new installation was beneficial, they informed us that they were now saving more on their various energy bills.

The upgrades provided by the Pinnacle Roof and Build team have sent their energy performance certificate from a ‘D’ rating to an ‘A’ rating, making this customer tremendously happy that the project achieved what they had set out to do.
