Interlocking Tile Re-Roof, Sale

A recent project in Sale allowed the Pinnacle Roof and Build team to deploy their expertise and showcase their specialities in roof work. The domestic property required an interlocking tile re-roof that seamlessly met the neighbouring style of the surrounding homes whilst revitalising it with long-term protection for less maintenance. As specialists in both flat and pitched roof properties, this property presented a chance to exercise both approaches with our usual precision and care.

Identifying Problems

We examined the existing roof to identify the level of work required to find that many of the existing tiles were in a broken and fragile state, also suffering from fading of the original colour.

That left the property looking externally tarnished. Underneath the tiles, it  revealed that there was no felt underlay which gave no support from the elements. As well as this, there was very little in the way of loft insulation found, making all heat storage in the property impossible and undoubtedly resulting in higher heating and utility costs in the colder months.

Despite the leaks presented by the broken tiles and absent underlay, there was zero structural damage which would result in additional precautions and work being necessary. The project came to us in time before any serious damages took effect.

Work

After assembling our scaffolding and accounting for all health and safety measures, our team of two roofers and one apprentice set about replacing the broken, fragile and faded tiles with the same interlocking tile selection in a grey tone, with vertical tiles on the dormers also replaced with grey concrete plain tiles.

We insulted the roof between each rafter with a 50mm Kingspan to better retain the full warmth of the property, helping to reduce heating costs and better soundproof the property.

We laid ridges alongside a dry fix system along the roof, helping to better maintain the roof against future problems. Our team also replaced all facias, soffits and guttering along the roof line – as well as the front and rear flat roofs. The flat roofs of the property were also laced with EPDM rubber.

Finish

The job took 3 weeks with just three team members but showcased a great deal of effort and perfection in delivering a stunning visual look – with reinforced protection for the property lifespan.

The client was extremely pleased with the rejuvenation of their home. If you require an interlocking tile re-roof, contact the team at Pinnacle Roof and Build today!
