A recent roof renovation project undertaken by the team at Pinnacle Roof and Build saw the need for a plain tile re-roofing and a Dormer rebuild in the town of Didsbury.
As this was a larger project, it required more than the usual amount of people on our team. This job was estimated at 4 weeks of work until completion and required 2 team members, 2 joiners and our apprentice throughout the entire process.
Pre-work
The existing roof was very old and had seen much better days, suffering from many broken tiles that needed to be safely removed due to their fragility through time. The existing roof dormer also was not offering much in the way of available space and needed to be completely redone to achieve the required space.
Fortunately, there was no serious structural damage to the roof that would cause considerable problems, but with the building being a listed property, extra consideration had to be made for every avenue of work being undertaken on the project.
Project
Our team worked in completely stripping the existing roof tiles and disposing of them in an onsite skip. Once the stripping had been completed, our team demolished the existing dormer and we added steel and created a brand new dormer.
We finished the dormer with a recommended EPDM rubber roof before retiling the roof in red old English red concrete plain tiles, accompanied by matching vertical tiles around the dormer and the black roof line, chimneys were dropped and capped.
The use of many power tools was in effect, as well as a genie lift for the build and installation of the steel for the dormer.
Completion
Upon completion and disassembling of the structural scaffolding, the client has a beautiful roof and dormer covering what was soon to become 4 serviced accommodation apartments.
