Over the years, our team at Pinnacle Roof and Build are called upon to complete a full re-roof on many properties with older type plain tiles. This is quite a common job for our team to work on, and it allows us to showcase to clients our tremendous work with replacing these older plain tiles with an interlocking tile.
Interlocking tiles fit securely with a single lap, whereas plain tiles require laying double-lapped to ensure weather tightness.
Step 1
As with most jobs, the team examined the state of the current roofing to determine the extent of work that lay ahead.
After a full assessment was done, work began on stripping the roof down to the rafters. From here, our team proceeded to felt and batten the rafters using a combination of new breathable felt and 2×1 batten.
Step 2
The next step was to tile the roof by using Marlow Ludlow Major roof tiles. Marley Ludlow tiles are the most popular tiles throughout the UK and are very well regarded for their roof detailing, providing a great look. For this particular roof, the selection of smooth grey was chosen.
As standard with all re-roofing work we undertake, the project was thoroughly insulated throughout and was finished with the installation of a dry-fix ridge system, providing waterproof unions underneath the screws to divert water away from the join.
